A. No. Sorry there's no point in sending your CV on spec.

Q. You are an Amazon associate but when I click a link it stays in your site. Why is that?
A. In September 2003 we re-launched the site using Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com XML web services. This means that we take data feeds from Amazon and format the data as we like. When you click the order product button, the item is added to you shopping basket. You are then taken to Amazon to handle the credit card processing. The web services have the advantage that you should never find a dead link to a product within our site.

Q. Some of your pages are called video but they contain lists of DVDs. Why is that?
A. As part of the re-launch we have standardised on Books and DVDs. The DVD format is increasing in popularity whereas Video is declining. If a good selection of Videos are still available we have added a short list of them on each DVD page.

Q. Do you need help re-designing you web site, with sales or a new web host?
A. No! And sending us spam emails about these sorts of items will result in a complaint about your email.

Q. Can I place an order by emailing you?
A. No! We do not accept e-mail orders. You need to follow the links to Amazon's page. Amazon will take your credit card details and process the order.

Q. Is there something wrong with your site I keep getting IIS Error 406 (Not Acceptable)?
A. IIS 400 series HTTP error messages relate to the client NOT the server. We use PDF (portable document format), DOC (Microsoft word), PPS (Powerpoint presentation) and ASP (Active Server Pages) on this site. The URL you have specified exists, however your client can’t accept the Content-Language (English) OR the Content-Encoding OR the Content-Type.

Q: Can Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk ship items to my country?
A: The only way to find out is to open an account with them and then try to order the item.
Some items, for example DVDs, can’t be shipped overseas for copyright reasons.
